A beloved Mother & Nanny Kit

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you, and whispered "come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you pass away, although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest, god broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the BEST.

Kit started a dynasty. She had 6 talented and successful children, 10 beautiful and caring grand children and so far 4 perfect great grand children and we are still counting. The world will be a better place because each and everyone will have a glimmer of Kathleen Primrose Quantrell shining in them.

I would like to thank all of you that visit my nans page - I didnt expect so many of you to light candles - My family and I are very touched - thank you all very very much xx

xXx Spring Makes Me Think of You in the Garden xXx

A sense of warmth is tapping at the door;
And hope, a feeling out from distant lore
– Or so it seems – clears the deep refrain!

Emerging youth: a dormant lea awakes.
The raging colour, singing loud, partakes
In annual birth – spring is born again!

A zest anew for nascent life
Begins in floral train:
Carriage one: a snowdrop thrill;
Carriage two: the crocus;
Number three, a daffodil – dancing,
Drawing focus – as she would,
Attention seeker!

How I love our spring:
The bold and sleeker feel I get,
An inner glow, a ring!
I’ve paid the winter’s chilly debt, so
Now upon the wing!

For You Nan

Remember
by Christina Rosetti

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

I miss you mum

I came across this poem today.
Where did it go?
my mum once asked
as the clock ticked
and her life flew past
In the race against time
she led for most of the way
but the track was endless
unlike her last day.
'Take care of the others,
promise you will'
as she passed on the baton
she would never spill.

So polish the stars
and fire up the sun
and put out some flowers
to welcome my mum
Find a new galaxy
and light up her name
because life on plant earth
just isn't the same.

Keep safe mum - I love you.

Love Lives On
(Amanda Bradley)

Those we love
are never really lost to us -
we feel them
in so many special ways-
through friends
they always cared about
and dreams they left behind,
in beauty that they added to our days...
in words of wisdom we still carry with us
and memories that never will be gone...
Those we love are never really lost to us -
For everywhere their special love lives on

Love you nanny Kit xxx

One Year On

Sunshine passes, shadows fall,
Love’s remembrance outlasts all;
And though the years be many or few,
They are filled with remembrance of you.

While Waiting For Thee

Don't weep at my grave,
For I am not there,
I've a date with a butterfly
To dance in the air.
I'll be singing in the sunshine,
Wild and free,
Playing tag with the wind,
While I'm waiting for thee.
The Comfort and Sweetness of Peace
After the clouds, the sunshine,
after the winter, the spring,
after the shower, the rainbow,
for life is a changeable thing.
After the night, the morning,
bidding all darkness cease,
after life's cares and sorrows,
the comfort and sweetness of peace.

Our Eco Pioneer

Our beautiful mum - Kathleen Quantrell the eco pioneer. You were re-cycling long before anyone had used the phrase re-cycling in the way we now know it. A trail blazer, but in a quiet way.

A strong woman, who was born before her time. We are priviledged to be her children.

With love

Her Journey's Just Begun

Don't think of her as gone away-
her journey has just begun
life holds many facets
the Earth is only one

Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years

Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away

And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost-
And she was loved so much.
